Introduction
Finally, we have to Urkraft built up a solid dance teacher training in African dance! It is the only one in Scandinavia of its kind that is for those who eventually want to teach African dance and African-inspired dance at dance schools and training facilities in Sweden or abroad.

African dance has become an increasingly popular form of dance in both dance schools and gyms then the demand for knowledgeable and skilled instructors / teachers become great. With this training, you get a reputable instructor training in African dance designed by some of the best in African dance at both national and international level.

We will work with African dance, particularly from West Africa, focusing on dance from Guinea, Gambia, Mali and Senegal. The training includes a deep insight into the West African dance and music culture, where history, context and interaction with live drums have a very important role. We will also show, taste and discuss how the West African dance branched off and resulted in a variety of mixed forms of dance. You may, as participants take advantage of many years of dance experience and accumulated knowledge from Sweden and West Africa. All to give you a decent, quality education that you can feel confident and proud!

Purpose
The rapidly growing popularity of West African dance has also resulted in a variety of dance teachers who lack certain qualifications that we consider necessary for the spread of a fair and true picture of West African dance. It is in our interest as an artist to maintain a high standard and convey it to new teachers. So you burn to teach and feel that you want to deepen your knowledge of African dance, we recommend you warmly to join this training.

Course content
Dance Training: Emphasis on the West African choreographies with depth in the accompanying rhythms and songs. Samples of other African dances such as Ndombolo and other African-inspired forms, such as Afro Street, African Newstyle, Dancehall, Afro-Modern, etc..
History: The African dances of different origin, distribution and development.
Technique: Dance Analysis, working with such posture and stretch.
Education / inspirational ploy: Lesson Structure, how to meet pupils' needs at the same time, etc..
Anatomy: A basic course in how to work right with your body, how to prevent injuries and the risk areas are in West African dance
& Music theory: When viewed from both a Western and African perspectives
Practice with Feedback: Participants will be put together and teach a dance class at 1.5 hours with two musicians for outside students (and each other). The lesson is filmed for those who want, and the participant receives written and oral feedback.
Creative work: Tips on how to create choreographies.
African dance and Health: The different health aspects of African dance.
Discussion: "Ritual dances versus choreographed", "What is West African dance", etc..

Prerequisites
You must meet at least one of the following requirements:
* Have good knowledge of West African dance
* Have a minimum of three years of dancing experience (of jazz dance, street, modern dance or similar)
* Have experience of leading dance / group fitness

Course Certificate / Diploma
To obtain a certificate of attendance must have attended at least 80% of the tuition. (Making some supplement available). You may, in addition to the certificate course, even one letter of recommendation, personal discretion based on participation during the course and practice.

General info
Each day of the course, we have approximately one hour for lunch and small stretch your legs. There are coffee and tea, microwave and refrigerator in Urkraft, and surrounding good lunch restaurants.
Documentation: If you take the course will be able to with your own camera to film the dances you learned at the end of each lesson (students shooting each other, but not the teacher) Please note that the material is for personal use as notes to yourself.

Welcome to an unprecedented week on the island of Gotland, Sweden, in the summer where nature, recreation, dance and inspiration meet in beautiful surroundings. We will stay at the modern guesthouse HEJDEBO who´s offering newly renovated rooms with 40 beds and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the charming cafe or outside on the lawn.
The guest house has a large lovely garden for dance and other summer activities: a large natural grass soccer field for 11-person teams, volleyball, boules, trampoline, barbecue grills and a sauna for 20 persons. During the course we will live together and occupy the plant with all its facilities themselves.

FOOD is an exclusive this week's favorite dishes from all over the continent of Africa and cooked in Hejdebos own kitchen with great care and love. So far as you can use local and organically produced ingredients.

DANCE led by Jenny, Seko & Jack from Urkraft in Stockholm, Scandinavia's leading business in African dance and drums. The dance is accompanied by at least three drummers! Weather permitting we dance outside on the grass, or indoors in nice big rooms with high ceilings and wide windows looking out towards the beautiful garden. All dance workouts end with a yoga-inspired stretch and relaxation.
Hejdebo is also an excellent base for tourism on the beatiful island of Gotland.

LEVEL, TIME: Beginners: Dancing at. 16-18.15 every day. Dance Experience / Cont / Adv dancing at. 10:15 to 12:30 every day. Would you like to dance both sessions are welcome to add a bit of money we will solve it in place.

COURSE DETAILS: In the courses we focus primarily on the West African dance but will also get a taste of the cool African club style African Newstyle.

Dance / Drum / cultural trip to Guinea in West Africa.

A trip to a traditional African lifestyle - today unique in the world! This year Jenny Ajland founder of the dance school Urkraft in Sweden will be your guide. Tour operator in Guinea in collaboration with Jenny & West African Travel is Fanta Yayo. Jenny has many years of experience of course arrangement in Guinea and Fanta who grew up in Guinea but now lives in Sweden is a griot with a cultural and artistic knowledge above many.

TRIP ARRANGEMENTS:
The Island Rom:
When we arrive in Conakry, Guinea's capital city, at about 19pm December 27, we will sleep one night in Conakry for the next morning head out to the natural beauty of the Island Rom which is located about 45 minutes by boat from Conakry.
There we will celebrate the New Year and install ourselves along with our "staff" and stay for 10 nights.
We will stay there next to the sea with access to swimming and sun at any time in a beautiful thriving nature. Rom has a small village where there is a small local Bush-cafe, bar, disco etc. We will be able to do boat trips to The foreign Slave island "Foteba" and to a larger island called Sorro. There are also opportunities for fishing, visit medecine men, fortune-tellers, etc. ..

Conakry:
On the morning of 7th January we head to the city of Conakry to leave our stuff at our residence located in Matam, one of the artist district of Conakry. Then we´re free to explore Conakry and its vibrant life, go to the market, street parties, Clubs, etc. In the afternoon we ll dance with one of the famous local african dancetroups "ballets" : Commune Matam. On Monday, we will also hold a Dondounbah-street dance and "bye bye" party for those who travel for 2 weeks and are going home the following day.

WORKSHOP CONTENTS: 3.5 hours / day, 5 days / week. The dance is at different levels and you can be anything from beginner to advanced. Travelers have previously appreciated our approach to dance at 10-12.00am and at 17-18.30pm, where you can select the coures in djembe, Doundoun, DOUNDOUN-DANCE or other instrument. You can also come along and just drum the hole trip. A drumrent fee at 100kr/week (10Euro/week) for those who want to drum and not buy their own drum, which many do. You will mainly learn West African dances with native teachers but also have the opportunity to try some African Newstyle / Afro Street & Ndombolo with Jenny & Fanta.

HOW A TIPICAL DAY CAN LOOK LIKE
Dancing at about 10-12
Sunbathing/ bathing in the sea of the island of Rome.
Lunchtime 13pm.
Free time for swimming, resting, going to the market, visiting schools, playing with children, check out the cooking, take note of the African everyday life and more.
17-18.30 Drum Course / Doundoun-Dance.
At 19pm Dinnertime.
Free time to cuddle, go to the local bar, getting to know all the wonderful people and more.
When we are in Conakry usually there is a lot of Doundounbas / street dance partys in the afternoon / evening.
We will also check out a lot of Guinean dance groups as they rehearse and get a little danceexperience with them too;)

THE FOOD: We put a lot of respect on the food and that it is cleaned and prperly cooked. There will be traditional African food for the most part! Nutritious and lots of fruit. Drinking Water you buy yourself: approx 5 sek (0,5 euro) / 1.5 litre

We have previously said about 1000kr/vecka and you have quite gone on a bit of money for souvenirs, clothing sewing, water (1.5 liter bottle costs about 5kr), gratuities to deserving helpers, small shipments, etc.
